Democratic mayoral candidates hold debate ahead of primary election
The democratic candidates for Shelby County Mayor debated again Thursday night. As expected, Rev. Kenneth Whalum, Jr. had the best sound-bites. But the 3 candidates touched upon many topics.. From city-county consolidation to tax breaks for big companies. In addition to Whalum, former county commissioner Deidre Malone (who ran unsuccessfully for county mayor in 2010), and current commissioner Steve Mulroy are in the race. The primary winner will challenge republican incumbent Mark Luttrell in August.
